JOHN SIPPLE | Distance / Cross Country
Coach Sipple is the Head Boys Cross Country Coach and an assistant Boys Track & Field Coach at Downers Grove North High School. Coach Sipple’s teams were runners up at the IHSA state Cross Country meet in 2013 & 2016. This year (2017) coach Sipple’s teams were 3a State Cross Country Champions and were NXR Midwest Champions. Coach Sipple is interested in inspiring and motivating kids to work hard through difficulties and problems to help them achieve what they are capable of. Additionally, his coaching philosophy involves the development of Championship Character within our athletes to help them not only in the field of competition but more importantly in life!
Coach Sipple prepped at Carl Sandburg High School for Coach Pete Struck and Coach Kevin Carey. During high school he ran cross country and track all four years. After which he moved on the Eastern Illinois University where he competed for Coach Jon MacInerney and Coach Tom Akers. Sipple continued on to be the Volunteer Graduate Assistant Coach for the Panthers during his time as a chemistry graduate student. He has had the pleasure to coach a number of different athletes throughout his coaching career.
