Tammy Gummerson, Plainfield North
English Teach and Head Cross-Country Coach
Tammy has been coaching Cross-Country and Track for the past 22 years. She spent her first six years as a middle school coach and then moved into the high school ranks as an assistant athletic director at Plainfield Central. When Plainfield North opened in 2005, Tammy was given the challenge of starting the girls track and cross-country programs. The girls track and field team has represented Plainfield North at the State Championships in 62 different events and has had multiple qualifiers every season since the school opened. One of the highlights was when the 2016 girls’ cross-country team qualified for the state meet for the first time in school and district history. Tammy is married to Minooka head cross-country and girls track and field coach, Kevin. Together they balance, coaching, teaching, and raising two kids.
