CHRIS FRIEDMAN | Distance / Cross Country
Chris Friedman is a 1991 graduate of Richwoods High School and 1995 graduate of Northern Illinois University. He has been a lifelong runner and, having joined the faculty at Dunlap High School in 1996, has been a track assistant since, coaching primarily the distance events and distance relay. In 2013 he was named head cross country coach for Dunlap High School, where he had been the assistant coach for two years. Since taking over as head coach his teams have been nothing short of amazing placing at the state cross country meet every year since he has been head coach (2013 9th, 2014 3rd, 2015 6th, 2016 2nd and 2017 champions). Before coaching at Dunlap High School, he was the head coach for cross country at Dunlap Middle School. He is also an English teacher and head of the English department at Dunlap High School. He and his wife, Alicia, have been married nearly twenty years and have one son, Brogan, a sophomore at Dunlap.
